Elections


Registering to vote is easy and convenient! The following requirements must be met in order to register:
- You must be a U.S. Citizen and a Kentucky resident for a minimum of 28 days.
- You must be 18 years of age by the date of the next general election (usually the first Tuesday in November). You are eligible to vote in the May primary election if you will be 18 by the November general election.
- You must have not been convicted of a felony. If you have been convicted of a felony, your civil rights must have been restored in order to be eligible to vote.
- You must not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law.
- You must not claim the right to vote anywhere outside of Kentucky.
If you are able to meet the above requirements, you may register to vote by completing a voter registration card and submitting it to the County Clerk’s office. If you prefer, A FORM CAN BE MAILED TO YOU (by requesting it), you can download a form from this web site, or you may pick up a form at the County Clerk’s office.

Important Election Dates
Last day to register for General Election: October 7th at 4:00PM
Mail-In Absentee Ballot – September 21st– October 22nd, 2024
Saturday, September 21st – Online mail-in absentee request portal to open
(45 days before the election).
Tuesday, October 22nd – online mail-in absentee request portal to close
(14 days before the election) at 11:59PM
You may drop your ballot off at the following locations during office hours:
LaGrange Branch: 100 West Jefferson Street, Suite 1, LaGrange.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8am-4pm, Tuesday 7am-3om, Thursday 8am-6pm
OPEN Election Day 6am-6pm
Crestwood Branch: 6710 West Hwy 146, Crestwood.
Monday, Thursday, Friday 8am-4pm, Tuesday 8am-6pm, Wednesday 7am-3pm
CLOSED Election Day
Prospect Branch: 13206 West Hwy 42, Unit 110, Prospect.
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8am-4pm, Wednesday 8am-6pm, Thursday 7am-3pm (closed 12:30pm-1:30pm daily for lunch)

On Election Day you must drop your ballot off at the LaGrange office.
In-Person Excused Absentee – October 23rd-25th & 28th-30th, 2024 during regular business hours of the LaGrange branch of the Oldham County Clerk’s Office.
3 Day Early Voting –
October 31st, 8AM – 6PM
November 1st, 8AM – 4PM
November 2nd, 6AM – 2PM
Voting can be done at the John Black Community Center and Crestwood Baptist Church (NEW)
Election Day – Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. Polls open 6:00AM-6:00PM.
County Board of Election Meetings
Regular meetings are held at the Oldham County Clerk’s office on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 9am. Meetings are open to the public and board minutes are kept and recorded in the County Clerk’s office. The County Board of Elections/Central Ballot Counting Board is also in session on every election day, certification day and days set by KRS for counting mail in absentee ballots as needed.
